Britain's favourite singer and the world's most successful classical crossover artist, the Welsh Mezzo Soprano Katherine Jenkins.
Katherine Jenkins has become the most successful crossover artist, and following phenomenal success in the classical world has gone on to become a household name featuring on many prime time television slots including an appearance in Emmerdale, Strictly Come Dancing, and Piers Morgan's Life Stories. Whilst currently starring as a mentor on ITV1's Popstar to Opera Star the stunning soprano along with Rolando Villazon joins seven celebrity contestants hoping to become opera sensations.
Whether it be taking to the stage with Darcey Bussell performing Edith Piaf's La Vie En Rose in their acclaimed production Viva La Diva, to giving Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah a classical twist, Jenkins is one of most forward thinking, creative and progressive artists of her generation, bringing her timeless aura to millions of fans across the world. With Marilyn Monroe style glamour, she has the business savvy of an opera Madonna and the humility and compassion that have made her everyone's favourite girl next door.
Six out of seven of Jenkins's studio albums reached number one in the classical charts between 2004 and 2008, selling a total of more than 4,000,000 copies.
After her first album, Premiere, made her the fastest-selling mezzo-soprano to date she became the first British classical crossover artist to have two number one albums in the same year. Gaining multiple success within the pop charts out selling artists such as the Spice Girls and Celine Dion. Katherine commented "I never imagined when I was a young girl listening to them on the radio that I would outsell the Spice Girls and Celine Dion. It's almost too much to take in. I can't thank my fans enough for all their support."
Featuring Special Guests Escala the electronic string quartet beauties who rose to fame when they performed on and reached the final on the second series of Britain's Got Talent in 2008.
